Umarex is a German airgun and airsoft manufacturer that began life in 1972. Around the time there was a change in the country's law, and over the counter guns had to be blank firing or airguns.
The opportunity gave rise to the birth of Umarex, as Wulf-Heinz Pflaumer, collaborated with Franz Wonisch and Karl Mayer Senior, and they set about developing a range to appeal to recreational shooters.
The business was an instant hit in Germany, and success soon spread as the company exported its products around the world. In the years since, it has acquired a variety of brands including Walther and Hammerli.
Umarex has been described as the 'King Of Replicas' because they make various iconic airgun version of firearms, for major gun makers including Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Colt and Heckler & Koch.
With high levels of realism, rugged and high quality materials, and reliability, they have all the ingredients an avid airgunner needs.
